“Who” trust?

This morning I open the Apple Apps countdown webpage on Safari 4 beta to check how far Apple is from the Billion of iPhone/iPod Touch applications downloaded. The countdown indicated 997+ millions.
I don’t know why I open the same page on Firefox 3.0.9 and guess what, the countdown didn’t give the same value: around 993+ millions of apps downloaded. I refreshed several times and delete the cache of both browsers but it’s still the same.

A consequence as there are pretty interesting gifst to win if you download the billionth app, which one can we trust?
Will the winner be choosen randomly?

Do you experience the same curious behavior?

Apple Apps Countdown

[update] I have tested it on Internet Explorer 8 and the countdown value is the same as Firefox gives.
